Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 4 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
  • cup buffalo sauce
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup sliced green onion
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • Olive oil spray

Equipment

  • Large Wonton Wrapper
  • Buffalo Sauce
  • Air Fryer 5.8 QT

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, buffalo sauce, mozzarella cheese, green onion, and garlic powder. Mix until fully combined, ensuring the flavors meld beautifully.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place a heaping spoonful (about 2 teaspoons) of the filling in the center. Be careful not to overfill, as you want to seal them properly.
  3. Brush the edges of the wonton wrapper with a little water to help them stick together. Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle shape, pressing the edges to seal securely.
  4. Repeat the filling and folding process with the remaining wontons until all filling is used. It’s a bit of a labor of love, but so worth it!
  5. Spray the air fryer basket generously with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the wontons in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  6. Spray the tops of the wontons with more olive oil spray, ensuring they get that golden color as they cook.
  7. Set the air fryer to 400F and cook the wontons for 8 to 10 minutes. Keep an eye on them; you want them crispy and golden brown.
  8. Once done, remove the wontons from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dressing, such as ranch or blue cheese sauce.
  9. These wontons are best enjoyed right away, as they tend to lose their crispness when left to sit.

Notes

  • Storage: Place leftover wontons in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer for crispiness.
  • Freezing: You can freeze uncooked wontons. Lay them flat on a baking sheet until frozen, then transfer to a freezer bag for easy meals later.
  • Pairing: Serve with a variety of dips such as ranch, blue cheese, or a sweet chili sauce for added flavor.
  • Impressive Presentation: When you serve these wontons, you’re not just offering a tasty treat; you’re presenting something that looks gourmet.
  • Customize: Feel free to mix things up by adding your favorite spices or herbs to the filling.
