Method
- Place butternut squash in the air fryer basket and spray with olive oil spray.
- Air fry at 340°F for 20 to 23 minutes, shaking the basket a few times until the squash is fork tender and golden.
- Meanwhile, combine the onion powder, garlic powder, sweet paprika, cayenne, kosher salt, and brown sugar (if using) in a small bowl.
- When the squash is tender, drizzle and toss with olive oil.
- Add the spice mixture and toss gently to coat; cook for 3 to 4 more minutes. Serve hot.
Notes
- Check for Tenderness: Always check that your squash is fork-tender before removing it from the air fryer. This ensures it’s cooked through.
- Avoid Overcrowding: Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket; this can lead to uneven cooking. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Experiment with Spices: Feel free to experiment with different spices. Cumin or curry powder can add a unique twist!
- Size Matters: The size you cut your squash pieces matters. Uniform pieces ensure even cooking.
