Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken breast Boneless and skinless, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • ¼ cup Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne pepper Optional

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. Begin by cutting the chicken breast into one-inch pieces. Try to keep them uniform in size so they cook evenly.
  2. Place the cut chicken in a large mixing bowl. This will be the base where you combine all the delicious flavors.
  3. In a separate small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and the optional cayenne pepper. This blend adds a unique warmth and sweetness to the dish.
  4. Pour this spice mixture over the chicken. Make sure to toss everything together until the chicken is well coated in the spices. You want every piece to be bursting with flavor!
  5. Using tongs, transfer the seasoned chicken to your air fryer basket in a single layer. If your air fryer is small, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook for 10 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, give the basket a good shake or toss the chicken to ensure even cooking.
  7. Check for doneness by ensuring the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F. The pieces should be golden and no longer pink inside.
  8. Once done, remove the chicken bites from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  9. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauces, and watch them disappear from the table!

Notes

  • Tip 1: If you have picky eaters, try using half the Cajun seasoning and swapping black pepper for the cayenne pepper.
  • Tip 2: You can swap out the Cajun seasoning for BBQ seasoning or Korean BBQ seasoning.
  • Tip 3: Other seasoning mixes like Montreal Chicken seasoning or everything bagel seasoning can also work, but skip the brown sugar in that case.
