Ingredients

  • 6 drumsticks chicken drumsticks
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. Start by preheating your air fryer to 200C/400F. This step is crucial as it ensures the drumsticks cook evenly and achieve that crispy exterior.
  2. While the air fryer heats up, grab a small bowl and combine the baking powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. Mix well until all the spices are evenly incorporated. The aroma will be irresistible!
  3. Next, pat the chicken drumsticks dry using a paper towel. This step is important because moisture can prevent them from getting crispy. Once dry, toss the drumsticks in the spice mix until they’re completely coated.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the seasoned chicken and toss again to ensure that each piece is well coated. The oil not only adds flavor but helps create that nice golden crust.
  5. Carefully place the drumsticks in the air fryer basket, making sure they’re not overcrowded. This allows the hot air to circulate around each piece, ensuring they cook evenly.
  6. Cook the drumsticks for about 8 minutes. At this point, they should start to look golden and crispy. Flip each drumstick over to ensure even cooking on both sides.
  7. Continue cooking for an additional 6 to 8 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 75°C/165°F. The skin should be beautifully crisp!
  8. Once done, carefully remove the drumsticks from the air fryer and let them rest for a minute. This helps the juices redistribute for even more flavor.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite sides and enjoy the deliciousness of your Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks. They’re sure to become a family favorite!
