Ingredients

  • 2 lbs bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 1.5 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt to taste

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Air Fryer
  • Baking Sheet

Method

  1. Start by placing your chicken thighs on a plate. Drizzle them with avocado oil and use your hands to ensure each piece is well coated. This step is crucial for achieving that desired crispiness.
  2. Sprinkle both sides of the thighs with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and sea salt. Make sure to rub the spices into the chicken for maximum flavor.
  3. Next, arrange the seasoned chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin-side down. While it’s okay if they touch, try to avoid overlapping to ensure even cooking.
  4. Press the Bake button on your air fryer. Set the temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and the timer for 10 minutes. During this time, the skin will start to crisp up beautifully.
  5. After the first 10 minutes, carefully flip the chicken thighs to the other side. Bake again at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for an additional 7 to 10 minutes. This ensures that both sides get equally crispy.
  6. The chicken is done when its internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness to ensure it's safe to eat.
  7. Once cooked, remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, making for a more succulent bite.
  8. Serve the Air Fryer Crispy Chicken Thighs with your favorite side dishes, and enjoy the crispy, flavorful goodness!

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. They can also be frozen for up to three months. These chicken thighs pair well with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad, making them great for any occasion.
