Ingredients

  • 4 pound whole chicken giblets and neck removed
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Parchment Paper
  • Air Fryer 5.8 QT

Method

  1. Prepare your chicken, make sure that all giblets are removed, and pat the chicken dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, combine the softened butter, minced parsley, lemon juice, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, kosher salt, black pepper, and paprika until it forms a paste.
  3. With a brush (or your hands), massage the mixture all over the outside of the chicken, and under the skin.
  4. Place the chicken into the air fryer basket (breast side down to start is best), and turn the air fryer to 370 degrees F for 25 minutes.
  5. Turn the chicken to the other side, and set the air fryer to 370 degrees F for another 25 minutes.
  6. Check the internal temperature of the chicken, and make sure that it has reached at least 165 degrees.
  7. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and allow it to rest for 5 minutes. Carve, and serve!

  • Cooking times may vary: Depending on the size of the chicken and the air fryer model, cooking times may vary slightly. Always rely on a temperature check.
