  • 3 pounds Apples peeled, cored, and sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 6 tablespoons Water
  • 3 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Method
 

  1. In a Dutch oven or large stockpot over medium heat, melt butter until foaming. Add apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, water, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt and stir to combine.
  2. Cook over medium until the apples are softened and cooked through, about 25 to 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and cool completely.
