Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Chicken Breast boneless, skinless
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs Plain
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt (with parsley flakes)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 eggs Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Grater
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures that the nuggets bake evenly and get that nice, crispy texture.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into bite-size pieces, about 1.5 inches each. Uniform sizes help them cook evenly.
  3. In a shallow bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. This will be your flavorful coating.
  4. In another bowl, place the all-purpose flour. This will be the first step in your breading process.
  5. In a third bowl, beat the eggs with water. This mixture acts as the glue that holds the breading to the chicken.
  6. Take each piece of chicken and dip it into the flour, making sure it’s well coated. Shake off the excess.
  7. Next, dip the floured chicken into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
  8. Finally, roll the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating.
  9. Place the coated chicken pieces onto a wire rack set over a foil-lined baking sheet for easy cleanup.
  10. Spray the nuggets lightly with olive oil to help them crisp up in the oven.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, flip the nuggets and spray with oil again.
  12. Bake for an additional 8 minutes. The nuggets should be golden and crispy.
  13. For an extra crunch, broil on HIGH for 1 to 2 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Just keep an eye on them to prevent burning!
  14. Once done, serve your Baked Chicken Nuggets warm with your favorite dipping sauces!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the oven to keep them crispy.
  • Freezing: You can freeze the uncooked nuggets. Just bread them, place them in a single layer on a baking sheet, and freeze until solid. Transfer to a freezer bag and bake straight from frozen!
  • Pairing: These nuggets pair perfectly with a fresh salad or some crispy sweet potato fries for a complete meal.
  • Variations: Try adding some spices like paprika or cayenne for a spicy kick, or switch out the Parmesan cheese for cheddar for a different flavor.
  • Batch Cooking: Make a double batch for meal prep. They reheat well and make for a quick lunch option!
  • Dipping Sauce: Consider making a homemade honey mustard or ranch dressing to elevate your nuggets.
