Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves
  • Water
  • Ice

Method
 

  1. Combine granulated sugar and water in a microwave-safe bowl or glass measuring cup. Microwave on high for 45 seconds and stir until sugar is dissolved and liquid is clear. Set aside to cool.
  2. Muddle together freshly squeezed lemon juice and fresh basil leaves, using a muddler or the base of a wooden spoon to crush the leaves and infuse the juice with basil flavor.
  3. Add cold water and sugar syrup to taste. Pour over ice and enjoy.

Notes

  • Storage: Store any leftover lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should last for up to three days, but it’s best enjoyed fresh.
  • Freezing: You can freeze the lemonade in ice cube trays to make refreshing lemonade ice cubes for later use!
