Ingredients

  • 8 cups whole milk or any type of milk will work
  • 0.25 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp packed brown sugar
  • 3 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 0.5 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
  • 3.5 cups freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee, avoid flavored coffee
  • caramel sauce
  • graham cracker crumbs
  • whipped cream
  • gingerbread cookies

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Slow Cooker
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Start by adding all the ingredients into your large slow cooker. This includes the whole milk, maple syrup, brown sugar, ground ginger, vanilla extract, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, and espresso. Stir gently to combine everything well.
  2. Set your slow cooker to low and let it cook for about 3 hours. During this time, you'll want to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't boil over. The aroma will start to fill your kitchen, making it hard to resist!
  3. After 3 hours, check the latte to see if it's heated through. If it is, turn the slow cooker to the warm setting and let it cook for another 2 hours. This will allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
  4. Before serving, give the mixture a good stir. Taste it and adjust the sweetness if necessary, adding more maple syrup or brown sugar if you like it sweeter.
  5. Optional: For a playful touch, dip the rims of your cups in caramel sauce followed by the graham cracker crumbs to create a fun garnish.
  6. Pour the hot latte into the prepared cups, top with whipped cream, and drizzle with more caramel sauce if desired. You could even crumble some gingerbread cookies on top for extra indulgence!
  7. The Crockpot Gingerbread Latte is best enjoyed warm, so gather your loved ones and serve it up while it's hot. Everyone will love the festive flavors!

Notes

  • Tip 1: The latte can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Just reheat gently before serving.
  • Tip 2: While not ideal for freezing, leftover latte can be frozen in ice cube trays and used in smoothies or blended drinks later.
  • Tip 3: Consider pairing the latte with gingerbread cookies, pumpkin muffins, or cinnamon rolls for a delightful sweet brunch.
  • Tip 4: Feel free to mix in other spices like cardamom or use flavored coffee for an interesting twist.
  • Tip 5: For a fun presentation, serve in clear mugs to show off the beautiful layers of the latte!
