Method
- Trim about 1 1/2 inches off broccolini stems and discard. Slice the broccolini in half lengthwise.
- Bring pot of water to a boil. When boiling, add broccolini and cook 2 minutes. Quickly drain and run under cold water to stop it from cooking.
- Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add the oil and garlic and cook until golden, about 1 minute.
- Add the drained broccolini, season with kosher salt to taste and red pepper flakes (optional), and cook 1 minute, or until heated through.
Notes
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- Freezing: You can freeze cooked broccolini for up to two months. Just blanch it beforehand to preserve its color and texture.
- Pairing: This dish pairs beautifully with roasted meats, grilled fish, or even as part of a vegetarian platter.
- Flavor Boost: For a kick, try adding some lemon zest or a splash of lemon juice right before serving.
- Nutty Twist: Top with toasted sesame seeds for added crunch and a nutty flavor.
- Cheesy Addition: Sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the top for an extra layer of savory goodness.
