Ingredients

  • 24 ounces Marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese divided (about 12 ounces)
  • 1 cup Finely grated parmesan divided (about 4 ounces)
  • 16 ounces Ricotta cheese (1 tub; 2 cups)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 16 ounces Lasagna noodles (1 box; broken into approximately 3-inch pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Fresh minced parsley (if desired, for garnish)

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Grater
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Chef's Knife
  • Frying Pan
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prepare your baking dish by spraying a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the marinara sauce and one cup of water.
  4. Add 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, 3/4 cup of parmesan cheese, ricotta cheese, kosher salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir well until everything is completely combined.
  5. Now, break the lasagna noodles directly into the bowl. Stir until the pasta is well coated in the sauce mixture.
  6. Pour the mixture into your prepared baking pan, spreading it into a relatively even layer.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Cover tightly with foil and bake for one hour.
  9. After an hour, remove the foil and drizzle the top with olive oil. Continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden in spots.
  10. Once baked, top with chopped parsley and cut into squares to serve.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. If reheating, add a splash of water to keep it moist.
