Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 12 tablespoons Butter (1½ sticks), melted and cooled
  • 1.5 cups Brown Sugar packed light
  • 2 eggs Eggs lightly beaten
  • 4 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 0.5 cup M & M's (plus a few extras to garnish)
  • 0.5 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Frying Pan
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°.
  2. Line a 9 x 9-inch baking pan with nonstick foil, leaving enough overhang to help you lift the blondies from the pan when they're done.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  5. Using a rubber spatula, fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and M & M's and pat the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Push in a few M & M's on top of the dough to garnish.
  8. Bake until the top is shiny, cracked, and light golden brown, about 27 to 30 minutes; do not overbake.
  9. Cool on a wire rack to room temperature.
  10. Remove bars from pan using foil and cut to serve.
