Ingredients

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls such as King’s Hawaiian
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1.5 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 12 ounces leftover turkey slices
  • 1.67 cups cooked stuffing
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese provolone, cheddar, or Havarti cheese, divided
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds

Equipment

  • Chef's Knife
  • Baking Sheet
  • Oven

Method

  1. Start by placing a rack in the center of your oven and preheating it to 350°F. This ensures your sliders bake evenly and get that perfect melty cheese layer.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This will make cleanup a breeze and prevent your sliders from sticking. You want them to come out easily and look perfect!
  3. Without disconnecting the buns at their sides, slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Be gentle as you slice to maintain the integrity of the buns, ensuring they hold everything together nicely.
  4. Spread the bottom half with mayo (or Greek yogurt) and the top half with Dijon mustard. This not only adds flavor but also creates a barrier that helps keep the buns from getting soggy.
  5. Layer on the turkey, then the stuffing. You may want to smush the stuffing a bit to help it stick together and ensure a good balance of flavors.
  6. Next, add the cranberry sauce on top of the stuffing, followed by the cheese. Make sure to cover the sliders evenly to guarantee every bite is cheesy and delicious.
  7. Add the top buns to complete the sliders. Gently press down to help the layers stick together.
  8. Transfer the assembled sliders to the prepared baking sheet. Keeping them close together will help them hold their shape as they bake.
  9. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and poppy seeds. This mixture will add a flavorful and attractive topping to your sliders. Brush it generously over the top.
  10. Bake until the cheese is melty, about 20 minutes. At the 10-minute mark, check to make sure the tops are not browning too quickly. If they are, loosely tent with foil and continue baking.
  11. Once they’re done, transfer the baking sheet to a cutting board and let the sliders cool for a few minutes. This waiting time will help them set a little, making slicing easier.
  12. Carefully slice apart the sliders and serve them warm. They’re best enjoyed fresh out of the oven!

Notes

When it comes to storing your sliders, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. If you're freezing them, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and bake from frozen when you're ready to enjoy!
